Easter Egg Hunt

Our neighborhood had an Easter Egg Hunt this morning!  It was so much fun, and very well planned!

I think Madeline has her Daddy right where she wants him….wrapped around her precious little finger!

Madeline has been taking a few steps on her own lately!  I’m guessing any day now she’ll be running free!

New moms out there: FYI--don’t buy dresses for your little girls during the “crawling” stage! If you do…no biggie…just tuck them into their bloomers!

Jack is saying, “ Look at my sister!!!”

My sweet Jack! Jack is my sweet love…I just can’t get enough of him!  He’s such a sweet boy!

Hitting the piñata!  They had so much fun.  Eventually we had to get one of the “big” boys to come break it for us though!

Madeline’s 1st Birthday

We celebrated Madeline’s 1st Birthday this weekend with all of our dear friends in San Antonio!  I have to say I feel so blessed.  We have truly made some wonderful friends!

We did an Easter theme!

I was so excited to get to make a girly birthday cake!

We dyed Easter eggs! 

It was messy, but FUN!!!!

We sang Happy Birthday!

Madeline loved her cake!  She really loved the fondant decorations!

Opening presents was so much fun!  Madeline really understood that the presents were for her, and she got so excited about everything! 

She really loved her Violet puppy! She followed Brad around waiting for him to open it!

She was waiting for him to open her puppy Violet…so cute!  He couldn’t get it open fast enough!

Thank you everyone who came, and made Madeline’s 1st birthday a great one!  We are so lucky to have such great friends to celebrate with!  We love all of you so much!

Madeline Grace

This weekend we are celebrating Madeline’s 1st Birthday!  We decided to stay home, and celebrate with friends here in San Antonio.  As a long shot I asked my mom to come thinking there’s no way she’d make a weekend trip considering the drive BUT…she said YES, and she is on her way today!  I am so excited!

Here are a few recent pictures of Madeline…She has her baby, which I will say she loves in a very special way!

I bought this baby to “prepare” Jack for his baby sister, but he really had no interest.  Madeline, on the other hand, LOVES her baby! If Jack touches it…she lets out this awful “don’t you dare” touch MY baby scream.  It’s sort of scary for such a sweet little girl!  She holds her baby, hugs it, and feeds it!  It is so cute to watch her sweet natural take to it…a little momma already!

BTW…we got new floors as you can see in the pictures!  WE debated, and debated, and debated on doing it because we are leaving in a year BUT I am so happy we did it!  I think it changes the house, and will definitely help it show better!

My little thing...

I paint.

I love to paint.

One day someone asked me to paint a picture for them.

  So…I did.

Then another asked.

So now I figured I should share with you my latest project just in case…

This painting goes in a precious little boy’s room that chose a SURFER THEME…

And this set of paintings goes in a beautiful baby girl’s room that is yet to be born, so her beautiful mommy chose her theme for her…which is a flower/Hawaiian theme.

Sweet Madeline turns 1!

I’ll never forget the day you were born.

I wasn’t sure if I’d have enough love

…but all it took was one second…

and I realized God had not given me just one gift, but two..

you of course

and

 the gift of endless love.

It was such a big day for me, but when I got home and saw this picture…I realized it was just as an amazing day for Daddy!

Just look at the way he looked at you!

Jack just didn’t know what to think…

He knew you were special and

probably wondered if you were here to stay…

We were a family, and you were a part of it now.

As I was reminiscing…I found these pictures…they made me cry. I lost Paw Paw four months after you were born, and it still hurts so bad eight months later. 

The bond between a parent and child is incredible.

that bond…you and I share.

And then I found this one…it made me laugh. 

Madeline, we love you more than you will ever understand…at least until you have a child of your own.  Then you will know a love you’ve never know before…

You are so much fun…you make us laugh all the time!

You have the funniest personality…

a little bit of a drama queen sometimes….

but still one of the best things that has ever happened to us!

We love you so much!
