Less is More

My new years resolution…

Less is More

it’s not as confusing as it sounds.

Clutter…I’ve been trying to organize clutter for years it seems…clutter that I never use…why am I organizing it? what for?

Why did I spend all this money on things I didn’t LOVE or NEED?

For example…I’ll name a few…

a basket of Bath & Body Works lotions/body washes/sprays…I probably spent a total of $60 on that stuff and I don’t even like lotions…I’ve never hardly used them.

clothes that I HAD to have…and have never worn or have worn only once or twice.

little bits of décor that are collecting dust.

shoes that hurt my feet.

If I don’t LOVE it---it’s about to be gone

If I don’t LOVE it---I’m not buying it anymore.

And to a certain extent..If I don’t NEED it---I’m not buying it anymore. I say this because I believe that somethings we may not need but we should still be able to enjoy Smile

Have you ever read Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey?

If you haven’t you should.  I read this book a few years ago and it changed my life.  It’s a very easy read and the perfect start to a more financially stable life.

I’ve never been a big “credit card” person…I’m thankful for that, but I will admit that I have the tendency to impulse buy things I really don’t LOVE or need.

I want to change that this year.

What are you changing this year?

I am reading the 7 habits of highly effective people by stephen covey and trying to incorporate his principles in my life. I have read this book several times and each time I truly benefit spiritually and personally. I challenge each of you to read this book this year. Two quotes that I hang onto is, "If we want to change a situation, we first have to change ourselves. And to change ourselves effectively, we first have to change our perceptions." and "We must look at the lens through which we see the world, as well as the world we see, and understand that the lens itself shapes how we interpret the world." Stephen Covey
